  Fruits, Treenuts and Coffee and Flowers  Team

   
This team is responsible for carrying out research on fruits, treenuts, coffee and flowers. Work on these crops is aimed at improving yields and quality of the produce from these crops.

Areas of research
(i) screening and evaluating coffee, fruit, treenut and flower varieties for resistance or tolerance against pests and diseases,
(ii) evaluating varieties for yield and quality, and
(iii) developing agronomic and cultural practices, processing and post-harvest handling methods, and insect pest management strategies.

Released varieties:
(i) banana (ii) oranges (iii) grapes fruits (iv) mangoes (v) guavas  (vi) macadamia  (vii) coffee( viii) peaches (ix)apples (x) avocadoes
