  • Malawi Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Master Plan.
The Council through one of its standing technical committees, the Agricultural Sciences Committee, developed a Malawi Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Master Plan in 1999. The master plan provides clear guidelines for execution of demand-driven research. The plan sets out research strategies in agriculture and natural resources to meet the challenges of improving productivity in the next decade.

  • The National Research Council of Malawi Strategic Plan

The National Research Council of Malawi has also developed a Strategic Plan for which covers the period 2003 - 2005. The Plan forms a solid foundation upon which all operational programmes, projects and activities of the Council will be based.

The Strategic Plan emphasizes collective action in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programmes and activities. It also stresses the importance of developing innovative mechanisms which will facilitate the smooth realization of the Council’s Vision and Mission. Further, it underscores the vital role played by committed and supportive leadership towards successful implementation of the plan. Ownership of the envisaged change effort, however, needs to be more broad-based and should essentially derive support from management as well as the rank and file members of the Council.
