INTERNET CONNECTIONS ON WINDOWS 95/98:
SET-UP
Setting up Internet connections on Windows 95/98 is easy. Here,
Malawi SDNP shows you how.
To complete the installation for dial-up connections on the telephone line,
you need to complete three set-ups as follows:
-
Install TCP/IP Protocol. The TCP/IP protocol
is a set of rules that computers use to talk to each other on the Internet.
It is often said that the only universal thing about the Internet is that
all computers speak TCP/IP.
-
Install a Dial-up Adapter. This
is a device on the computer that enables the computer to make the connections
to other computers using a modem and a telephone line
-
Install a Connection. The Dial-up
Connection is the set-up which stores the actual telephone numbers to dial,
the username and password for logging into another computer or network.
Malawi SDNP also shows all these steps in detail with actual pictures of
windows that you would see as you install in Graphic
Display of Steps. However please note that viewing the steps
in graphic form requires a good speed connection. If you have problems,
then use the less demanding displays in the list above.
