The Internet outage was caused by a power interruption from the Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi - ESCOM - who were carrying out maintenance work at the time.

Although power availability around our node in Blantyre is normally very high and excceds 99.9%, it is regrettable that we have suffered such an outage again within the same month. This time ESCOM gave us a 30-minute notice, too short for us to let you, our clients, know this in advance.
