(a) INTERNAL STUDENTS Pass List

(b) EXTERNAL STUDENTS Pass List

Welcome to the results of the Malawi School Certificate Examinations (MSCE) as released by The Malawi National Examinations Board (MANEB). MSCE is an examination that marks the end of of the 4-year secondary school curriculum in Malawi. Admission into university and other tertiary institutions is mostly based on perfomance at MSCE. In almost all such cases, MSCE is used as a base for selecting students who are to sit entrance examinations to university.

The results have been released by MANEB in two groups, (a) internal students and (b) external students. Internal students are those who go through regular secondary school classes in a school setting while external students are those that study at "home" and just go to sit MSCE at the centres. These groups are registered differently for MSCE.

The results are released for each centre and we have grouped the centres by district for easier access and comparison. Malawi SDNP is seeking additional data from MANEB, such as the total number who sat at each centre, but it is our hope that, even without this, you can see the performance at each centre from the list of student IDs as well as from a display of the total number that passed.

It is our hope that this open data presentation will assist to improve provision of information on the eduaction system in Malawi, and contribute to tools and information for improving performance at the centres as well as at the national level so as to contribute to sustainable development.
