Law 310 Business Organisations
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the law relating to the
most common forms of business organisations: companies, and partnerships;
and to introduce students to the theoretical concepts and practical considerations
involved in the establishment and running of business organisations. The
course also covers public corporations and their role in Malawi.

Law 320 Commercial Law
The purpose of the course is to provide students with an appreciation of
the legal implication arising from the most common commercial transactions
encountered in commercial life. The course covers sale of goods, hire purchase,
agency, insurance and negotiable instruments, etc.

Law 330 Conflicts of Laws
Conflict of Laws deals with both international and internal conflicts of
laws. Internal conflicts cover primarily the conflicts between common law
and customary law, and the territorial distinctions between the various rules
of customary law in Malawi.

Law 340 Human Rights
This course is aimed at giving students a broad knowledge of human rights
from a domestic and international perspective. It therefore covers the history
of human rights, the Constitutional and other basis of human rights
law, the international instruments and international sources of human rights
law. Specific areas of human rights areas, such as women's rights, children's
rights, minority rights etc. are covered.

Law 350 Jurisprudence
The aim of the course is to analyse and evaluate the more common concepts
used in law, and to critically study the history of legal theory and modern
schools of thought.

Law 360 Wills and Succession
The course is intended to give a thorough knowledge of the law relating to
estate and intestate succession covering both statutory and customary law
rules. The course also includes lectures on the practical aspects of the
duties of the executor and administrator in winding up the deceased's estate.
