Law 210 Law of Trusts
The course aims at giving the students a detailed knowledge of the law relating
to private and public trusts, their creation, administration and termination.
The course also deals with implied and constructive trusts. The practical
application and use of the law of trusts is emphasised

Law 220 Land Law
The course is intended to cover all major aspects of the law relating to
private and public land in Malawi, including leases, settlements, co-ownership,
licences, easements, covenants and mortgages. Customary land tenure is also
dealt with.

Law 230 Law of Contract
The course is intended to cover all aspects of the law relating to contract,
including the forms of contract, capacity to contract, formation of contracts,
contents of contracts, vitiating elements in contracts, void and illegal contracts,
privity, frustration, breach of contract and remedies. The course also deals
with quasicontracts.
4 hours lectures per week
Law 240 Family Law
The course is intended to cover all aspects of the law relating to matrimonial
affairs between spouses married under the Marriage Act, Cap. 25:01 of the
Laws of Malawi, and adoption and affiliation procedures as governed by statute.The
course also deals with marriages contracted under customary law and those
registered under the African Marriage (Christian Rights)
Registration Act, Cap. 25:02.

Law 250 Public International Law
Public International Law is intended to give students a knowledge of the
concepts and problems of the international legal order, and the rules governing
the relationship of states at peace and during wartime, international institutions
and regional organisations.
