SDNP MZUZU NODE NOW UP
I am pleased to announce that the Malawi SDNP Internet node in Mzuzu is now up and operational including dial-up on a Mzuzu telephone number. Here below are details on how you can best utilize and benefit by using this SDNP node located right in Mzuzu. You can get additional configuration details, including those covering other Malawi SDNP nodes in Lilongwe and Blantyre, by clicking here.
You can now dial-in directly into our Mzuzu node and connect to the Internet and services on the following telephone number:
Dial-in from Northern Region: 310888 Dial-in from other regions: 01310888
We have to use these two different numbers for telephone dial-in because, as you must be aware, Malawi Telecoms Ltd (MTL) faced problems when they were introducing the 8-digit telephone numbers. MTL has still not resolved these problems in the Northern Region including Mzuzu.
You do not have to make any changes to your computer set-up if you were using our Lilongwe SDNP Node, other than just changing the dial-in telephone number. You can continue to use your current username and password. The following parameters will also continue to work best:

Out-Going (SMTP) Server: kalata2.sdnp.org.mw
Webmail : available to everyone including those on e-mail-only.
Access your mail from anywhere on the Internet via webmail.

RECOMMENDED: Obtain DNS server address automatically
HOWEVER, if you must set this manually then use:
Preferred (Primary) DNS Server: 196.45.190.25
Alternate (Secondary) DNS Server: 196.45.188.25
Alternate (Tertiary) DNS Server: 194.42.96.226
WWW browsing:

PROXY Server: this is optional
RECOMMENDED: cache2.sdnp.org.mw port:8080
Those that use a proxy server will most likely see faster browsing.
We will soon release a nearer proxy server for the Mzuzu SDNP Node.
E-mail-only clients should NOT use a proxy server to access webmail.
